Sony DSC T7 Review

Sony DSC T7 Review

The Sony DSC T7 is a very compact digital camera. Measuring just 14.7
mm (0.58 inch) at its thickest point, the T7 is not much bigger than a credit card. So if you are after a good digital camera that fits in your pocket, you should consider the Sony T7.

Somehow, Sony has squeezed a 3x optical zoom into the metal case and you also enjoy a 2.5 inch LCD screen to review your photos. With 5 megapixels, full movie mode with sound, lithium battery Sony has released a good little package.

Sony DSC T7 Review - Cons

  • Week flash (common problem with compact camera)
  • Short battery life

Sony DSC T7 Review – Final Word

Often the controls are a problem with such small digital camera. The Sony DSC T7 does have small controls but they are well designed and easy to use even for people with larger hands.

Very good lens for a subcompact digital camera and you will get quality photos. Of course you wont get the quality of a bigger camera but for someone who is after a practical digital camera the T7 is an excellent choice.

The 3x optical zoom is a big plus for such a small camera and the 2.5 LDC screen is another plus. Several users have reported a low life battery which can be inconvenient because you will have to carry a second battery and it can defect the purpose of buying a subcompact digital camera. But overall a very good digital camera.

You can buy online the Sony DSC T7 at very competitive price.

Shop around and make sure you compare prices and make sure you buy from a reputable vendor.

I only recommend merchant that I trust and experienced their service myself.

Sony DSC T7 Review – Memory

Most digital cameras come with very low capacity memory cards or memory stick for Sony cameras and the DCS T7 is no exception. A 32 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo is included in the box when you purchase the Sony DSC T7.

There is no fixed rule for the number of photos you can put on one card because different image file types, different amounts of compression, and image content all affect the size of each file.

As a general rule, I'd recommend at least 256 megabytes or two 128 megabyte cards if you're buying a 3-5 megapixels compact digital camera.

If you want to shoot lots of high resolution TIFF or RAW files, then you'll probably want to look at 512 megabyte and 1 gigabyte cards. It's also a good idea to not save all of your photos on one card.

With the 32 MB memory stick included with the Sony T7, you will take approximately 12 pictures before having to empty the memory stick! You need to budget for another memory card.

Another good reason to get several memory cards is there's always the possibility that cards can get corrupted, lost, or stolen. Using more than one and switching during a shoot protects your valuable photographic data.

The type of memory card for the Sony DSC T7 is Memory Stick PRO Duo.

Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® Lens

The Vario-Tessar® lens is specially produced for compact cameras and provides rapid auto focus with appealing zoom range. Utilizing a highly transmissive optical grade prism, the lens is housed entirely inside the camera body, and does not need to extend for use.

Super Compact Slim Body

The ultra-compact and thin size (9.8mm) of the DSC-T7 makes it the perfect camera to tuck in a pocket or purse for high-quality, high resolution photos almost anywhere.
