Memory

When you buy a Nikon Coolpix 4300 a 16MB memory card is included.

With this card you will take approximately 10 pictures before having to empty your card.

I like the 256MB memory card size. You will take about 128 pictures and they are affordable (around $55 for).

Compact Flash is the memory type for the Nikon 4300.

Case and batteries

You should also buy a case for your digital camera. It’s convenient to carry the extra memory cards and the spare battery. But most of all, it will protect your camera. They are affordable and can get them anywhere.

The Nikon 4300 is powered by a Li-ion rechargeable battery with an above average life above the average. Getting a second battery is a good idea but not a must.

This battery will last approximately 90 minutes, which is quite considerablewhen you are taking shots. Won’t last as long if you are using the movie mode and reviewing often your pictures using the LCD screen.

It’s always nice when you know that you have a back-up battery and don’t have to worried about running out of power, for that reason if your budget allow it it's a good idea to get a second battery.
