With a 256MB you will take around 100 pictures, with a 512MB around 204 and with a 1G memory card you can take up to 410 pictures. As you can see, you will need to buy an additional memory card to enjoy all the possibilities of this digital camera. Compact Flash is the type of memory use by the Canon S50.
